WHY I AM BETTER THAN THE COMPETITION
EXPERIENCE: I am a
practicing litigator of 34 years, and have 15 years experience specifically
limited to employment law.
EDUCATION: I attended two
years at UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Business in the Executive MBA
program. I obtained my J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. I
was a published author of two Law Review articles while there.
IMAGINATION: I continuously
look for opportunities to leverage the situation for my clients, and enjoy
brainstorming solutions and tactics. I will often involve my clients directly
in the process in a team approach to reaching their goals.
FOCUS: I only practice employment law. With rare exceptions, I
only represent employees.
CONTINUOUS LEARNING: I am taking
webinar courses every month. I consistently exceed the State Bar's Minimum
Legal Education requirements by hundreds of hours. I daily read for new
developments in the area of Employment Law, and I almost daily write short
articles published on the web concerning these developments.
PROMINENCE & LEADERSHIP: In 2010 I was
the "chair elect" of the Orange County Bar Association Labor and
Employment Law Section consisting of over 400 members. In 2011 I am the Chair,
and am responsible for presenting monthly educational seminars by prominent
members of the Bar. I also create networking opportunities and leadership
projects for our members.
SYSTEMS: I use project management software for my office
operations. I use tracking systems for case management, and I have an
outstanding assistant who helps me with file maintenance, task management,
calendaring, and general organization.
WRITING SKILLS: This is perhaps
my greatest strength, and greatest source of professional satisfaction. I love
writing about my clients' cases in ways that win the heart and mind of the
judge or arbitrator. I also write legal summaries and case briefs that distill
the points of law most useful to my client's position.
PLAIN TALK: My clients want
answers, not vague legalese. I explain the law in simple terms. I explore the
weaknesses and strengths of the particular client's case, and I tell that
client the opportunities and risks of proceeding at each stage. I explore the
options. Most importantly, I am not afraid to make a recommendation. For
examples of happy client's who appreciate this approach, see my testimonials here.
